Paul R. Kerridge heads Durst Kerridge’s Appellate Practice, drawing upon a decade of clerkships and high-level appellate training. Paul holds a rare pedigree in being an alumnus clerk of both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Paul has realized appellate victory at every level, including a recent United States Supreme Court victory in United States of America ex rel. Deborah Sheldon v. Allergen Sales, LLC, in which the Court vacated an adverse decision in a qui tam case and reopened the door to a recovery of over $2 Billion. He handles appeals throughout Ohio and nationally, with substantial experience in the Sixth Circuit, Supreme Court of Ohio, and Ohio’s First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, and Twelfth District Courts of Appeals.

Paul’s appellate experience involves a broad range of subject areas, including commercial, real estate, intellectual property, financial services, white collar, bankruptcy, regulatory, and constitutional law. His notable achievements include the reversal of a $1,187,886 judgment against a New York-based finance company in an intercreditor dispute in First Financial Bank v. Tailored Fund Cap, L.L.C., 1st Dist. Hamilton No. C 230626, 2024-Ohio-4982; dismissal of the adverse party’s appeal in O.T.R. Adopt Inc. vs. City of Cincinnati, et al., 1st Dist. Hamilton No. C 2200556 (Dec. 21, 2022), which permitted a $100 million+ real estate development to proceed; and Infinity Capital LLC v. Francis David Corp., 851 F.App’x 579 (6th Cir.2021), which upheld the liability determination in a multi-million-dollar payments industry dispute.

Appeals have been the primary focus of Paul’s career. After being awarded a fellowship at Notre Dame Law School for being in the top ten in his class, Paul began his career as an Assistant Ohio Attorney General representing the state and its administrative agencies on appeal. He then spent two terms clerking for Supreme Court of Ohio Justice Patrick F. Fischer, and subsequently was selected to clerk for the Honorable Judge Chad A. Readler of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Paul then joined the appellate practice group of one of Cincinnati’s largest firms before leaving to form Durst Kerridge.
